yes i still exist, well i'm more of a liminal spectre

um, i realise i have been very lazy - not to mention considerate- in not regaling you with my life stroy as it unfolds day by day, but there are several reasons for this, including the fact that i haven't done anything of note for months because dissertation took over and i only emerged officially into the daylight today having bound and handed in my 22,000 word tome entitled 'The Eastern 'Other' & the Forging of Western Identity (c.500 B.C. - A.D.850) in which I argued unassailably that the oreientalist attitude of the west regarding the east is not just a product of colonial self-justification, but has its roots in the classical mediterranean, specifically in the Persian Wars in response to which Athens' literary canon established a model of the civilised west as separate and superior culturally to the barbarian east - a model which still frames the relations between east and west to this day. indeed, it is fair to say that the world we live in is still, 2500 years on, centred geographically and psychologically on the mediterranean. Interesting stuff, eh?
weeeell...yes and no, but primarily no.

so, i have to move out of jolie exeter next thursday and i need somewhere else to go. i'll be damned if i go back to kent, literally.
i cant be bothered to write more
Bye!

the day i was reborn in god, but supped with the devil, part the first

or, 'why do i always get to know people just before the end of a course and then never see them again?'
the answer i suspect lies in the english mentality of reticent grudging hostility towards all who may be termed 'other'.of course im not english, im just introverted and hateful.christian is just one class mate i got to know today, who is leaving to return to his fatherland in the german hinterland.but on the bright side he is engage dxot a muslim girl named Islam.Christian and Islam.surely does the good lord have a sense of humour.potential children's names include of course zoroaster, buddha, jewlius/a. priapus in steves case.
or 'why is it always such a struggle to think of anything to put in this journal, my existence cant be this empty?'
yes it is.
though tonight the void will be filled for a fleeting moment by the aural delights or otherwise of Selfish Cunt, whos debut at the cavern is probably much if not hotly anticipated by all concerned, especially those who are fans of the cunt and are anticipating going.just who gets to support the Cunt anyway? insert own joke alomg the lines of giving her a hand.
i think Yevgeny Yevtushenko said it best:
it would be far more terrible to mistake
a friend than to mistake an enemy

'well, i'm back', he said.

bongo
sorry ive been away and neglectful of my duties. martin's faint tone of disappointment re the quantity of entries herein has electrified me into taking the bull by the horns, pulling my socks up and wasting my time and yours, whoever u r, by expounding more of this shit.
well, here's what ive been doing, in order of ascending chronology, not grapeness:
dad 'had' a coma for three days and 'did' a stroke, leaving him temporarily paralysed and frankly a little tetchy; then i went to cairo for nigh on five weeks, and learned many fine things up to and including never go to cairo for nigh on five weeks.this is a general rule, however, and one may get around cairo's pitfalls by going there for no more than 2 weeks and staying out of harms way in a nice 5 star hotel 200 miles out of the city. ie: go to luxor, get a tan and dysentery then leave.they put toilet paper in the bin.it smells.the pollution is so bad u can feel it in yr throat and lungs, and its the equivalent of smoking 30 cigs a day.o and they dont like western people cos we stole their land and their soul.gob bless america.
i am long in the hair of my head.
its fucking cold in exeter.i have no money.i need a job.i have exams.i have a dissertation. fuck it, lets have a reunion!
saw a programme about people who never grew up.a priest in 1967 built a train track half a mile long in his back garden and drove back and forth while contemplating the great questions of existence, those few left after the acceptence of an autocratic jealous jewish supreme deity, that is! i digress. as the camera followed his progress from church to track, the narrator's voice-over told us gently ...'they grew up .became clergy, the bold dreams were thrown off with the short trousers'. this particular line struck me as very telling and inspired in me an urge to leave the room.
for i had to put the washing out, to dry, and for tho i was sore afraid that the inclemency of the weather at the time may have, in deed and fact, pissed down on my aforesaid articles, i threw caution to the winds of necessity and hung it out. it hasnt rained, and that, i think, rather proves my point. that there is no god, specifically. subsequently i read a short and accessible tome of modern philosophy, and am now in my room drinking red wine on my own, casting these words willy nilly and mostly randomly into the ether(net?) hoping that some soul will answer my cry (for help) and reach out to me.
im very tired

dear diary,
today i got up at 7am. why? i hear you cry. because i had three hours of arabic.which only included learning three utterly unpronouncable and indescribable letters, so: gghhrah, qu like a glottal stop but suffocating, and aAayhA. all of which involve blocking one's windpipe with one's tongue.all of which gives one a sore throat and craving for fanta, which i duly obliged in 'happy time' betwen first and second hours. believe one, it is a happy time.bismillaah, no, we will not let you go. thats where it comes from. now i have to go into town to pick up a Package that was cunningly delivered when no-one was in.sadly i don't have a Car, so i have to Walk.to the post Orifice.
but i also have to do other stuff i can't think of, and will therefore get into trouble for neglecting later.
fly pan am are playing the bristol thekla on nov 8th.shelac are playing the scala in london at the end of nov-dec 1st.motorhead are playing the great hall nov19th, supported by sepultura.
join me
im leaving now
